ESL Blues
(Original Index)

Pre-intermediate to high-intermediate level English

This is the old index. It still works fine, but for the latest, more interactive, pages, you should go to the ESL Blues New Index Page. It combines all of the quizzes, games and tutorials found here with many new ones that work on all devices: smartphones, tablets, laptops, desktops, TVs.

Because some of the diagnostic quizzes (see below) are still linked to this, the old index, it will remain online for the foreseeable future.

Note, however, that all the new quizzes, games or tutorials, including many for beginners, can only be found on the new index.

  • You know what you want!     Use the alphabetical main index below, or, better still, go to the new index.
  • You need to be guided!     Diagnostic quizzes pinpoint your errors and take you to the appropriate pages:
    • Different-each-time diagnostic quizzes: Basic/pre-intermediate level   all levels. Any errors you make will offer you a link to a quiz that helps you understand and correct that type of error.
    • The original diagnostic quiz with 25 questions. Any errors you make will offer you a link to a subindex that lists quizzes for that particular type of error.
    • For revision of pre-intermediate to intermediate grammar, do these quizzes.
  • You already know your level!     Check the numbers:     1 = pre-intermediate;     2 = intermediate;     3 = high-intermediate.

There are many quizzes for entry-level students (beginners) listed on the new index. They are not listed here.
